I love discovering a band on my own – the challenge in searching through “similar artists” lists or computer-generated “recommended artists”. The Sounds have been around for quite a while, but I only just listened to their music for the first time last month. They hail from Sweden, that country that took so long musically to recover from the curse of ABBA. But recover they have, with a host of decent bands available to listen to – I’ll share a few more in some up and coming posts.

The Sounds sound like Blondie, crossed with someone like The Cardigans. “Dorchester Hotel”, the first single of last year’s third album bt he band, “Crossing the Rubicon” is available for free at 7Digital.com (Click Here). It is an easy to listen to song with a solid disco-y beat and being free, awesome! You have probably heard another of The Sounds tracks which features on one of the Geico commercials
