Madness: Dust Devil
30 years after the band released their debut album and ten year’s since their last album, Madness returned from the wilderness in 2009 to release “The Liberty of Norton Folgate”, their ninth studio album. “Dust Devil” is a single off of the new album and is a departure from their previous silly antics. But the ska, the saxophone and the 80’s pop sound is still here, and this is a welcome reminder of the band’s heyday. I wouldn’t expect Madness to eclipse anything they produced but this may be worthy of a place on a “best of” album, if Sugsy and the rest of the Madness crew ever call it a day.
