The Corrs completes my trio of “C” bands that saw international success in the 1990’s. The Corrs, an Irish Folk-Rock/Pop group is made up of four siblings – Andrea, Caroline, Sandra and Robert. Their music is a blend of traditional Irish music with a more modern guitar-sound, and the added dimension of a choral of voices. It’s easy, melodic, harmonious listening and draws upon the influences of Fleetwood Mac and Simon & Garfunkel. Although today’s choice, “Breathless”, was released in 2000, the band had a string of hits in the mid 90’s with “Runaway” and “So Young” being a couple of examples. This is a little too ‘poppy’ and radio-friendly for my liking, but I don’t mind listening to this once in a every blue moon or so. “In Blue” incidentally, was the third album released by The Corrs, and the one which contained “Breathless”.
The Corrs: Breathless, 3.0 out of 5 based on 1 rating
It’s my belief that the Corrs are best listened to on long road trips or when you need some music to clean the house to. We have In Blue and Breathless and they are fun for a time…
