“Ooh my little pretty one, pretty one.
When you gonna give me some time, Sharona?”
It's cool to know nothing
Oops.. wrong song – sorry! But doesn’t this sound like The Knack and their well known hit, My Sharona? The Kaiser Chief’s, a band that formed in Leeds, England released this as the lead of single to their third album in 2008. I’m surprised that I didn’t come across references to My Sharona whilst I researched the history behind this track. Was it only me that came up with the resemblance, or am I the only person on this planet that listened to both Never Miss a Beat and My Sharona on the same day? (I was about to give the spotlight to The Knack today, as the ‘K’ artist in my A-Z project.)
The lyrics for this song actually highlight the ‘coolness’ of being a school drop out. Of course, anyone with any sense can see the irony of this. It’s so cool to know nothing, don’t you think!?
Oh, and as an added bonus, here is The Knack with My Sharona. Can you believe that this was released in 1979?! I was almost certain this was a 90’s song.
Kaiser Chiefs: Never Miss a Beat / The Knack: My Sharona, 4.0 out of 5 based on 1 rating

Yeah? I’d recommend checking out some more of their songs then! Start off with their first album “Employment”. Trust you to think of the Weird Al song ahead of the song it parodied.

Wow, an obscure song that I actually like on the first try. That rarely happens!
I was going to say it sounded like Weird Al’s “My Bologna”
