Are you Hot Stuff?
The late 70’s was probably one of the periods of time the Rolling Stones would like to forget. Despite it’s attempts to pick up on the rage of the time – that is, funk and disco, “Hot Stuff” was a flop. Music critics were branding the band has “decadent, aging millionaires” The Rolling Stones, should have taken notes from The Who’s 1972 song, “Long Live Rock” and stuck with what they were good at. Rock, with a little bit of Roll. Donna Summer, a disco diva had a Disco hit 3 years later with the same title (though that is the only similarity).
There is a restaurant in Syracuse that is built in a refurbished warehouse – hence, it has a lot of space for diners. The foyer is about the size of a regular Applebees, and contains several old fairground style games that challenge you to feats of strength, or, as is portrayed on the left, machines that test your love. One time, my wife and I tested this out – we had quarters to spare. I went first, and was pretty pleased with my result – I was passionate or wild or something. My wife, who was at the time my fiancée squeezed the handle and yes.. she was hot stuff. We tested again, after a couple of year’s of marriage, and predictability, we were mild at best. Bah! What does a stupid machine know?
