Rip This Joint is the second track of the Stones Exile on Main Street album, released in 1972. A short track, at a little over two minutes in length, this clearly has a frenetic pace that harks back to the early days of rock & roll. The Rolling Stones certainly started making music this way, covering many blues and rock & roll songs from artists such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Muddy Water.

The early 70’s was the Rolling Stones at the height of their success – Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers preceded Exile on Main Street, and Goats Head Soup followed it. Has any other band come close to producing four albums of such magnitude?
