Mickey doesn't do the Mickey Mouse Mambo

Mickey doesn't do the Mickey Mouse Mambo

I missed Mickey Mouse’s 81st birthday on Wednesday (Nov 18). Darn! But that made me remember a track I had bookmarked for one of those “what shall I post today days?” You may remember the other week I posted a dance routine performed by a pantomime-horse/court-jester dressed duo from the Lawrence Welk show. Behold, here is Welk’s second coming for a track a day, starring Bobby and Cissy. It is so terrible and unwatchable that your eyes will try to kid your brain into thinking that you have to stay tuned… for every last second. If it wasn’t for those Mickey Mouse ears this performance would probably be dismissed as a average demonstration of the mambo. With the Mickey Mouse ears, the “I’m Bob” introductory sequence, and the “guess you can’t guess my name” T-shirts, this performance plummets into the unbelievable, even for the Lawrence Welk Show.

Oh, and I’m Gareth. But I have never done the Mickey Mouse Mambo.

If it was not for this video, I would have died not knowing how to spell “Anacani”

I liked it. I think lawrence welk had fine musicians and performers.

I think some people don’t like ”normal” things. They want something like “LADY GAGA”.

Well, I’ll take Lawrence Welk and the Mickey Mouse Mambo anytime.

I’ve been a professional musician and played the drums for 38 years. Lawrence Welk would have been a great gig.
