Check out this ultra-cool musical visual, created by Esteban Diácono using 3D particle software for a piece of music written and composed by Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds. The effect of powder dancing in water compliments the simplicity and gentleness of the music, which is written for just piano and strings. According to Diácono’s blog, he was contacted by Ólafur and proposed to make this animation the official music video for “Ljósið” – which translates into English as “The Light”
Oh, and after listening to this track, would you be able to believe that Ólafur used to play drums for hardcore/metal bands in Iceland. A rose amongst the thorns you could say?

Pretty amazing stuff. Not sure how you transition from metal to classical? I guess they are both the peak of musical performance (suppose you could also include some jazz in that mix).

Yeah … my guess is that there are not too many bands in Iceland and not enough musicians.
