It’s Halloween time, and spirit’s are high. And, I have a winner – this song wins out from all (two) of the Halloween-themed songs that were submitted to me. Thank you everybody… I guess I need to promise real giveaway prizes, that will bound to get people flocking!

The Monster Mash was first released in 1962, and has been a regular Halloween-time music choice ever since. The video posted above is dated from 1973 and is a mish-mash of all those classic horror and monster movies known to man. Godzilla, Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolf Man, and the Abdominal Snowman all show up for the party hosted, of course, by the Mad Scientist.

Notable bands that have resurrected Monster Mash from the dead include The Beach Boys, The Misfits and Boris Karloff (the original version by Pickett was an imitatation of Karloff’s voice).
