Witchy Woman has to be on most people’s lists of ‘Halloween-themed’ songs – it certainly makes my top five. It’s a great song, by a great band. Written by Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, Witchy Woman has more to do with drugs and women rather than witches but the pair make good use of words to keep this song close to topic. “Raven”, “Sparks”, “Echoes” – the three words that start the first three lines of the song all direct into the dark night.
