David Bowie was Glam Rock
Doesn’t it seem like yesterday that I was posting a song by Bowie… where as this last week gone to? Anyway, here we are again, if there’s a situation that is crying out for a song then you have no need to look any further than the chameleon of pop music, David Bowie. Whether it be Space, Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol, Quicksand, the Bewlay Brothers or change, Bowie’s 1972 Hunky Dory album covers every topic imaginable and yet strangley fuses them all together into a satisfying blend of sound that will keep you captivated.
Fact. I will have this on my playlist at work tomorrow.
When I was discussing the launch date of trackaday.net with my wife, she came up with the idea of a song to acccompany the day. Changes was her choice. Good, but in the end, I The Animals We’ve Gotta Get Out of This Place (out of wordpress.com) headlined the day. Changes was released as a single in 1972, yet failed to make the Top 40 in the music charts, despite later becoming one of Bowie’s most celebrated songs.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Peter. I really shouldn’t dedicate a Bowie song to you, especially one detailing all kinds of ch-ch-ch-changes, but what the bazookas, here you go.

But, being clueless about music, your wife also thought that the song was by the Rolling Stones. It’s probably best you didn’t heed my advice.
