Once upon a time I was involved in a not so well known sport called Octopush, or Underwater Hockey. Our team were the Metrodome Barracudas, our home pool was in Barnsley, and we battled against nearby clubs such as the Sale Sharks, Sheffield Stingrays and the Batley Argonauts. On one occasion, we even competed at the National Championships. We never won any medals or trophies, but it was all good fun. My speed and aquatic skills were put to good use in the pool as I rarely lost the race to the puck at the start of the game.
Every sports team should have an entrance song, the one song that will get them geared up and ready for battle. Unfortunately, the Metrodome Barracudas didn’t have a song. Why on Earth not!? If only we had a team coach up to speed with the world, maybe he could have influenced the Metrodome management and blasted Heart over the public announcement system. Unfortunately, Malcolm wasn’t up to speed with the world.
I want to thank you for introducing me to Grooveshark…and for not picking “All I Want to Do is Make Love to You” – possibly the worst well produced song of all time.
