“Hey Bulldog” is a fun track that I have only heard a few times before – I have a sizable collection of Beatle’s music, but The Yellow Submarine soundtrack has so far evaded my grasp. I don’t know why – it is supposedly one of the better Beatles albums – though I’m not so fond of the randomness of the hallucinogenic film! “Hey Bulldog” was originally supposed to be worded “Hey Bullfrog”, but some antics in the studio in the form of Paul McCartney barking altered the lyrics. John Lennon put the majority of the work in on this song, and when you listen to it you can easily see the similarities with some of Lennon’s later work (Cold Turkey).
