Released as a single in 2000, this heavenly song is taken from Enya’s album “A Day Without Rain”. It is a gem of a song to listen to, and will ease and rejuvanate your body. Sounds a bit like one of those commercials for a $4 bottle of healthy-water doesn’t it? Maybe if Enya is ever in need of some additional income she should consider partnering with Evian water.
My wife has always been a huge Enya fan, and because today is a special day for us (we were engaged on this day, six year’s ago) I figured I’d make up for my recent post about 80’s music. I was going to break out a Bob Dylan record, but that one can wait.
When you listen to this track, it’s as if you are listening to a full choir. yet, this is just one voice – multiple layers are dubbed over each other to provides you with a choral sound where the lyrics melt into eachother. The soothing and melodic celtic music in the background accompany her voice beautifully and give the track a pace that is equal to a breeze after a Summer thunderstorm. There is a beauty in this music that I find difficult to describe, so I think I will let the song speak for itself.
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows, only time?
And who can say if your love grows,
As your hearth chose, only time?
I’ll tell you what time has told me. That our love can grow, and grow, and grow!
